A Connecticut native, Jim has always explored the world of visual art in one form or another.  His earliest memories recall the teachers that were instrumental in his development of artistic expression and the impact on his attempts be they negative or positive.  "Drawing" on this personal knowledge, he consciously bypasses un-necessary and self defeating messages about the artistic process and takes the novice by the hand and walks that journey of first attempts by their side.  He is a most compassionate teacher that really believes in what he does.  Hoping that people can learn to access the spirit through art and convey themselves visually to themselves and the world, his students excel quickly and confidently through each lesson.
